Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus

Interventions

Intervention group:Participants received 6-month behavioral intervention for dietary and exercise behavior modification.
Control group:Participants were given a behavior change handbook to instruct their dietary and physical exercise modification.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: (1) Aged >=18 years; (2) high-risk for diabetes as measured by American Diabetes Association (ADA) screening tool (scored 5 or more); (3) have access to WeChat feed with smartphones; (4) agree to informed consent, as well as take part in the study voluntarily.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: (1) have been diagnosed with diabetes or other endocrine diseases, such as thyroid disease being treated; (2) unable to exercise or require special diet due to physical illness; (3) uncontrolled hypertension (systolic blood pressure >=160mmHg, diastolic blood pressure >=110mmHg); (4) have been undergoing a lifestyle intervention program or similar study/plan to take medicine or surgery to lose weight; (5) pregnancy.
