Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. aged 18-60 years; 2. male or female; 3. body mass index of 24-40 kg/m^2 with stable weight 3 months prior to the study (< 5kg weight lose or gain); 4. agree to participate and sign the informed consent form.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Uncontrolled diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, cancer, thyroid disease, epilepsy, migraine, severe kidney, liver or gastrointestinal disease, binge eating disorder, depression, has a history of weight loss surgery, and take any known drugs affecting appetite and energy metabolism, or lipid and glucose metabolism. Women who were currently pregnant, planning to become pregnant or breast-feeding were also excluded.
