Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients with clear clinical diagnosis, clinical condition requiring MECT + drug treatment and suitable for MECT: inpatients and outpatients who meet the diagnostic criteria of DSM-IV schizophrenia, depressive disorder and bipolar disorder through SCID structured interview from March 2020 to December 2021 in the Sixth Hospital of Peking University; 2. Patients who meet the indications of MECT, have no MECT and anesthesia contraindications, and need to receive MECT; 3. Patients between 18-45 years old, male and female unlimited; 4. The patients who are in the acute attack stage can have the first episode or relapse; 5. Patients with IQ > 70; 6. Patients willing to sign informed consent and cooperate with the study. Recruitment criteria of healthy volunteers: 1. Subjects who are healthy and have not suffered from known genetic diseases; 2. Subjects without DSM-IV Axis I mental illness; 3. Objects with IQ > 70; 4. Willing to sign informed consent and cooperate with the research object.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Mental disorders: 1. Patients with serious physical diseases, such as serious cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, serious respiratory diseases, serious liver, kidney, endocrine, blood diseases, malignant tumors, etc; 2. Patients with organic mental disorder, alcohol or drug dependence, clearly diagnosed cognitive impairment and personality disorder; 3. Patients not suitable for MECT; 4. Patients with metal substances in the body and not suitable for head MRI (plain scan + hippocampus) examination; Lactation, pregnancy, pregnant women; 5. Patients who cannot sign informed consent. Healthy volunteers: 1. Objects with a history of loss of consciousness for more than 5 minutes; 2. Objects with a history of alcohol or substance abuse / dependence in the past year; 3. Objects with contraindications of MRI (some special people can't do MRI, such as pregnancy, patients with pacemaker, patients with aneurysm clip after craniocerebral operation, patients with ferromagnetic implants, patients with artificial metal valve after cardiac operation, patients with alloy prosthesis or metal joint, patients with insulin pump or nerve stimulator in vivo, etc.).
