Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1) Aged 18-85 years old; 2) National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)= 4 but less than 25; 3) Within 12 hours after stroke onset; 4) Existing contraindications for intravenous thrombolysis or thrombectomy within the time window, or the patient and his/her family not agree with these treatment; 5) Signing informed consent.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1) Patients with premorbid modified Rankin Scale (mRS) score=2; 2) Cardioembolic stroke; 3) A history of intracerebral hemorrhage, subarachnoid hemorrhage, or epidural hematoma within 3 months; 4) Disturbance of blood coagulation, aberrant thrombocytopenia or neutropenia; 5) Severe hepatic (ALT 3 times greater than the normal upper limit) or renal (creatinine more than 2 times the normal upper limit) insufficiency; 6) Having a serious cardiac or lung disease or other serious illness; 7) A life expectancy of less than 3 months; 8) Women during pregnancy or lactation; 9) Unable to complete the study due to mental disorders, cognitive or mood disorders.
