Age

18 Years to 75 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1) Aged 18-75 years; 2) Acute Ischaemic stroke; 3) NIHSS > 9; 4) Stroke onset < 48 h; 5) Written informed consent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1) CT/MRI evidence of intracerebral haemorrhage; 2) Use of antibiotics within the last 14 days; 3) Suspected life expectancy of <3 months; 4) Participation in other interventional trials; 5) Pregnancy, lactation.
