Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. A minor aphthous ulcer with the size of not more than 10mm in diameter; 2. The ulcer occurred within 3 days; 3. The visual analogue scale (VAS) of functional pain score before treatment was not less than 3; 4. Only one lesion in mouth.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients with systemic diseaserelating with oral ulcer(such as ulcerative colitis, Crohns disease, Behcets syndrome, etc.); 2. Pregnant or lactating patients; 3. Patients undergoing orthodontic therapy; 4. Patients accepted other treatments (such as systemic steroids or immunomodulatory agents, nonsteroidal anti-inflamatory drugs, etc.) during the previous month; 5. Patients used any topical agents within 1 week before the trial; 6. Patients with the habits of tobacco and alcohol.
