Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. The age ranges from 15 to 85 years old; 2. CT scan, laboratory examination and endoscopy confirmed the case of cirrhotic portal hypertension- esophageal and gastric varices; 3. Although moderate and severe esophageal varices had no bleeding, they had obvious tendency of bleeding, and the cases were treated with endoscopic primary prevention; 4. The cases had a history of esophageal varices rupture and bleeding, and were treated with endoscopic secondary prevention; 5. The subjects (or their legal representatives) have signed the informed consent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Acute esophageal varices rupture and hemorrhage; 2. All patients were diagnosed as the pre-sinus and post-sinus portal hypertension by medical history inquiry, CT and laboratory examination(such as portal vein thrombosis, idiopathic portal hypertension, regional portal hypertension, artery-portal venous fistula, cardiogenic, buga syndrome, hepatic sinus syndrome, etc). 3. Endoscopy and endoscopic ultrasonography considered esophageal and gastric space-occupying lesions originating from the mucosal layer and the submucosal layer. 4. Patients were diagnosed as hypertrophic gastritis by endoscopy and endoscopic ultrasonography. 5. Patients were diagnosed as cholangio-pancreatic diseases by abdominal ultrasonography,even CT or MRI if necessary. 6. Patients are older than 85 or younger than 15 years old; or patients were pregnant and nursing women. 7. Patients with heart, lung and neuropsychiatric dysfunction who cannot tolerate gastroscopy and endoscopic treatment. 8. Patients with coagulation dysfunction caused by some diseases or have taken anticoagulant drugs in recent 2 weeks.
