Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Inclusion criteria for ESRF patients undergoing hemodialysis at the Shenzhen Hospital, Southern Medical University: 1. Regular hemodialysis treatment > 3 months; 2. Aged >18 years; 3. Body weight 45-80kg, height > 150 cm; 4. BMI <40kg/m2 and ASA physical status I-III; Inclusion criteria for healthy subjects: 1. Any subjects with American Society of Anaesthesiologist physicial status of I; 2. Over 18 years of age; 3. With body mass index less than 40 kg/m2.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Exclusion criteria for both groups: 1. Diabetes, patients who have histoies of upper gastrointestinal bleeding, or esophageal, gastric, upper abdominal surgery; 2. Administration of proton pump inhibitors or gastrointestinal promotility agents within 2 weeks.
