Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Neonate is admitted at the participating departments of Neotatology. 2. Gestational age at delivery < 37 weeks. 3. CSF should be collected for clinical examination of newborn suspected meningitis. 4. Parenteral consent is signed by at least a parent agreeing that neonatal blood and CSF will be collected.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Major congenital abnormalities or birth defects.
