Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Healthy youth adults: (1) aged 18-40 years; b. no history of respiratory tract infection in recent 8 weeks; (2) no abnormality in physical examination, X-ray examination and blood routine examination; (3) no obvious oil smoke, dust, peculiar smell and special chemicals in working environment. 2. Healthy elderly: (1) aged 65 or older; (2) other inclusion criteria are the same as that of healthy youth group. 3. Patients with aspiration pneumonia: (1) Aged 65 years or older; (2) clinical diagnosis of pneumonia: referring to the 2006 edition of the guidelines for diagnosis and treatment of community acquired pneumonia issued by the respiratory branch of the Chinese Medical Association, chest X-ray film or lung CT shows exudation shadow of two lungs or one lung, with fever or respiratory symptoms (cough, expectoration, dyspnea, chest pain, hemoptysis), or (and) lung audible and moist rales or wheezing sound, and (or) peripheral blood leukocytes greater than 10x10^9/L or less than 4x10^9/L, except for diseases with similar effects such as left ventricular dysfunction; (3) In the past, the patients with aspiration pneumonia were definitely diagnosed, who had the history of choking during eating / drinking water, or with history of indwelling nasogastric tube, and who had the history of choking during eating / drinking water before the onset of the disease.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Healthy youth adults: (1) have a history of chronic respiratory diseases, or have serious heart, liver, kidney and other systemic diseases; (2) have used ACEI, bronchodilator, hormone, antihistamine and antitussive drugs in recent 4 weeks. 2. Healthy elderly (1) cognitive impairment, MMSE score less than 24 points; (2) other exclusion criteria are the same as that of healthy youth group. 3. Elderly patients with aspiration pneumonia: (1) cognitive impairment, MMSE score less than 24 points; (2) previous stroke history or new stroke; (3) long-term tracheotomy; (4) smoking; (5) chronic respiratory disease history or serious heart, liver, kidney and other systemic diseases; (6) ACEI, bronchodilator, hormone, antihistamine and antitussive drugs have been used in recent 4 weeks.
