Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1) histopathologically confirmed and untreated nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients; 2) more than 18 years old, less than 65 years old; 3) body status ECOG 0~2; 4) normal blood biochemical indexes, normal liver and kidney functions; 5) patients and their families have given informed consent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1) previous history of radiotherapy, chemotherapy and surgery; 2) patients with severe heart and lung disease; 3) other tumors; 4) diabetic patients; 5) patients who have used metformin, insulin or any other hypoglycemic therapy in the past three months; 6) fasting blood glucose level >= 7mmol/L or HbA1c> 6.5% in the past three months; 7) metformin allergy or intolerance; 8) those who have taken antibiotics in the past three months.
