Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Aged >= 18 years; 2. Consistent with the diagnosis of sepsis or septic shock; 3. Agree to participate in this clinical study and sign a written informed consent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients who suffer from serious basic diseases, such as respiratory failure, heart failure, liver failure, advanced malignancy etc, which may cause death of the patient in the near future; 2. Patient will probably be discharged within the first 72 h following inclusion or palliative treatment intent; 3. Pregnant or lactating women; 4. Patients who have history of mental illness.
