Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Inclusion criteria for healthy subjects: 1. Healthy; 2.18 Years and older; 3. Agree of giving written informed consent by subjects; 4. Physical examination without any clinically relevant abnormality; 5. Normal defecation pattern. Inclusion criteria for critically ill patients: 1. 18 Years and older; 2.Addmited to medical ICU; 3. Agree of giving written informed consent by patients or legal custodian; 4. Patients who have an expected length of ICU stay of > 24 hours.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Exclusion Criteria for healthy subjects: 1. History of any chronic medical illness, like hypertension and diabetes and so on; 2. History of any type of malignancy; 3. History of any digestive system disease; 4. History of any communicable disease; 5. Subject uses tobacco products; 6. History of alcoholism;7. History of any drug abuse; 8. Use of antibiotics within 12 months; 9.Pregancy or breast feeding. Exclusion Criteria for critically ill patients: 1. Routine screening for CRKP by rectal swabs is positive within 48h after ICU admission; 2. Life expectancy < 24 hours; 3. History of any ICU hospitalization; 4. Pregancy or breast feeding.
