Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients underwent gastrointestinal surgery without ostomy, in which an anastomosis was carried out; 2. Abdominal drainage tube was inserted during surgery; 3. Aged greater than 18 years.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: patient who was allergic to iodine and those who was placed drainage tube for less than 5 days; abdomino-perineal resection or other kinds of gastrointestinal surgery without an anastomosis being performed (eg, Hartmann procedures).
