Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. TBM group: According to the diagnostic criteria in the Lancet Consensus scoring system published on the Lancet Infect. Dis. in 2010 [Marais S, 2010], examination for Mycobacterium tuberculosis positive in cerebrospinal fluid should satisfy one of the following: acid-fast bacilli seen in the CSF; Mycobacterium tuberculosis cultured; a CSF positive commercial NAAT. 2. Non-TBM group (Control): Patient who is required cerebrospinal fluid examination but with no CNS infectious disease and pulmonary tuberculosis. (All patients' information came from the CSF sample bank and Patient management system of Department of Neurology at Southern Medical University Nanfang Hospital)

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with malignant tumors, HIV infection or autoimmune diseases.
