Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Between 30 and 80 years old; 2. Primary school education or above; 3. MRA, CTA or DSA show that more than 75% stenosis exists in the carotid artery system; 4. The patients were asymptomatic, or without transient ischemic attack (TIA) and acute cerebral infarction within 2 week; 5. SPECT showed decreased cerebral blood flow (CBF) in the middle cerebral artery supply area; 6. According to the provisions of GCP, obtain informed consent and volunteer.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients with stenosis of vertebral basilar artery system >=50% or more, or with embryonic brain; 2. MRI showed infarction in middle cerebral artery blood supply area >=15mm, or infarction in cortical area, or infarction in cerebellum area; 3. Patients who need carotid stents or carotid endarterectomy; 4. Patients who do not have access to mri or SPECT (such as allergies); 5. Pregnant or lactating women; 6. Examination confirmed the existence of brain tumors, traumatic brain injury, brain infection, degeneration, inheritance and other brain diseases; 7. With severe respiratory, digestive, tumor and other systemic diseases, the survival time is less than 6 months; 8. Abnormal liver and kidney function was examined in the laboratory, namely ALT or AST 1.5 ULN, or creatinine >=140 umol/L; 9. Mentally ill; 10. People who are allergic to butylphthalide; 11. Other conditions considered inappropriate by the researcher.
