18 Years to 85 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: (1) aged at least 18 years; (2) diagnosis of first stroke; (3) normal speech function according to the Mandarin Language Screening Test with cut-off scores of >13 for those with primary school education or >14 for those with junior high school or higher education; (4) normal cognitive function according to the Montreal Cognitive Assessment with a cut-off score of >26; (5) home discharge.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: (1) did not own a smartphone; (2) were unwilling to install and use the WeChat software on their smartphone; (3) had emotional dysfunction according to the Beck Depression Inventory with a cut-off score of >13; (4) had other medical illnesses limiting study participation.
