Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Meet the Montreux Diagnostic Criteria for ARDS: 1) acute onset; 2) oxygenation disorder is accompanied by decreased residual volume, and positive pressure ventilation facilitates pulmonary recruitment; 3) respiratory failure caused by pulmonary edema can not be completely explained by heart failure; 4) chest X-ray suggested diffuse transmittance decrease of both lungs; 2. Hospital stays is longer than 24 hours.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. The causes of respiratory failure were neonatal respiratory distress syndrome (NRDS) , neonatal transient hyperventilation (TTN); 2. Severe abnormalities of respiratory and circulatory system; 3. Montreux standard applies to certain range of age. Newborns whose gestation age is less than 40 weeks, from birth to 44 weeks of gestational age, and who born after 40 weeks from birth to 4 weeks later. Those who do not meet the scope are excluded; 4. Children transferred from other hospitals, and newborns whose specific usage of PS/ventilator was unknown.
