Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: (1) Probable AD base on the diagnosis criteria of NINCDS-ADRDA criteria (the National Institute on Aging and the Alzheimers Association workgroup, McKhann et al, 2011[11]); (2) Male or female, 50 years and older; (3) All inpatients or outpatients recruited into this study must meet MMSE score <=24 points; (4) Have a reliable caregiver who can accompany the patient to the site to complete the required study procedures; (5) Provide the informed consent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: (1) The patients caregiver is unwilling or unable to complete NPI-Q assessment. (2) Patients with other mental illness ( e.g. delirium, schizophrenia, or other systemic diseases causing psychological symptoms, e.g. liver and kidney insufficiency).

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Percentage (%) of patients diagnosed as total BPSD in each group according to the record logged into structural table.;

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Percentage (%) of patients diagnosed as mild, moderate and severe BPSD symptoms in each group according to the record logged into structural table.;Correlation between the knowing or not knowing of NPI-Q assessment result and diagnosis rate of BPSD according to the structural record of routine neurologist inquiry.;
