Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Aged >= 18 years; 2. ASA classification I-III; 3. Planned abdominal surgery >= 2 hours; 4. Undergoing abdominal surgery and general anaesthesia expected to be extubated; 5. With an intermediate-to-high risk for postoperative pulmonary complications (as defined by the ARISCAT score>=26); 6. Written inform consent.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Refused to cooperate or be inappropriate; 2. Requiring re-operation or postoperative ventilation/circulation supports; 3. Acute lung injury or acute respiratory distress syndrome in last three months; 4. With cardiac insufficiency (NYHA >= 3), previous cerebral infarction history, severe liver disease (such as liver failure) or chronic renal failure (glomerular filtration rate 30 kg/m; 6. Participation in another experimental protocol at the time of intervention selection.
