Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Aged >18 years; symptoms compatible with an acute coronary syndrome; and serial Troponin I profile consistent with acute injury and peak level > 0.5 ng/ml, and significant angiographic coronary stenosis.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Previous acute coronary syndrome (preceding 3 months); MI caused by other than coronary stenosis (e.g., arrhythmia, severe anemia, hypoxia, hypotension, valvular heart disease); chronic kidney disease stage 4 and 5; active liver disease with glutamic pyruvic transaminase level >3.0 ULN or total bilirubin level >1.5 ULN; New York Heart Association stage III-IV or Killip III-IV heart failure or left-ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) < 30%; diagnosed malignancy; discontinued medication; other diagnosed atherosclerotic disease such as ischemic stroke and atherosclerotic obliterans of peripheral artery; other conditions that may interfere with ARA metabolite concentration, including severe infection, auto-immune disease, severe osteoporosis, aneurysm, Graves disease, senile dementia, Parkinson disease, asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, bronchitis, acute/chronic glomerulonephritis, psoriasis, contact dermatitis, atopic dermatitis, urticaria, atrial fibrillation, or other anaphylactic disease; recent trauma or operation; or long-term use of aspirin, cromolyn sodium or glucocorticoids.
