Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: (1) a more than 6-month history of unilateral LRP; (2) a VAS score >= 4 on a scale of 0-10; (3) age over 65 years; (4) lack of satisfactory improvement with oral pharmacotherapy, physical therapy and epidural corticosteroid injection; (5) refusal or intolerance to surgical intervention; (6) magnetic resonance imaging evidence of nerve root involvement; (7) absence of neurologic deficits.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: (1) low back pain more severe than radicular pain; (2) evidence of significant neurologic deficits, such as progressive motor deficit, dense sensory deficit; (3) refusal to participate in the study; (4) bilateral radiculopathy or spinal stenosis of more than 3 levels; (5) previous spine surgery; (6) allergy to local anesthetics or contrast medium; (7) significant anatomic deformity or uncontrolled psychiatric disorders; (8) coagulopathy; (9) history of opioid use; (10) inability to finish the self-evaluation questionnaires (VAS, ODI)
