Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients who are suspected to suffer acute appendicitis (Alvarado scores >=5 points); 2. Suspected (or cannot exclude) to be acute uncomplicated appendicitis (acute simple appendicitis, acute suppurative appendicitis)by CT scan or ultrasound.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients didn't suffer abdominal pain or occasionally diagnosed as acute appendicitis by colonoscope; 2. Patients under the age of 18 years old or over 80 years old; 3. Patients who have contradiction of receiving colonoscopy: (1) Severe cardiopulmonary insufficiency psychiatric dysfunction or coma; (2) acute peritonitis; (3) Acute toxic gastrointestinal inflammation(dysentery,explosive ulcerative colonitis); (4) Patients during menstrual period; (5) Severe intestinal obstruction or volvulus by abdomen adhesion; (6) Acute gastrointestinal hemorrhage; (7) Underwent gastrointestinal or pelvic operation or receiving radiotherapy recently; (8) Patients allergic to contrast medium; (9) Patients who have hemorrhage tendency because of long-term using of corticosteroid or receiving anti-coagulant treatment; (10) Patients who receive appendectomy because of ERAT failure; 4. Not including any following items: periappendiceal abscess, acute perforated appendicitis; 5. Patients undergoing any other clinical trial; 6. Patients that the researchers consider whom are not suitable for receiving clinical trial because of other reasons.
