Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. aged >= 18 years; 2. typical clinical symptoms and signs of monosegmental LDH; 3. concordant imaging evidence of the same level herniation (limited to L3-4, L4-5 and L5-S1), such as computed tomography (CT) or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI); and 4. complaints remain after conservative treatment for at least 6 weeks before surgery.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. serious underlying disease or mental illnesses, such as depression and anxiety disorder; 2. severe central stenosis on CT or MRI, spinal instability on flexion/extension radiographs; cauda equina syndrome, active infection and highly migrated type of LDH; 3. previous treatment with spinal surgery, ozone intervention or radiofrequency ablation; and 4. unwilling or unable to voluntarily participate in the clinical trial and complete follow-up.
