Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: (1) the patient met the diagnostic criteria for acute cardiogenic pulmonary edema (according to the history, typical symptoms and signs), and the results of blood gas analysis suggested PaCO2> 40mmhg; (2) the subjects have clear consciousness, can cooperate with the treatment, and obtain the informed consent of the patients;

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: (1) contraindistions of non-invasive positive pressure ventilation: cardiac arrest, weak spontaneous breathing, coma, etc., requiring immediate endotracheal intubation, high possibility of aspiration, facial trauma/postoperative/deformity, patient's non-cooperation, etc.; (2) hemodynamic instability caused by severe heart failure, acute respiratory failure caused by non-cardiac factors, and acute cardiogenic pulmonary edema occurred in pregnant women, infants and children.
