18 Years to 55 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. At least 18 years of age; 2. ICD-10 diagnosis of schizophrenia, confirmed with the MINI interview; 3. Written Informed Consent; 4. Fully capable of making their own decision regarding participation in the study; 5. Stable pharmacological treatment at least two weeks prior to the start of the study; 6. Patients remain on their regular medication for the complete duration of the study; 7. Minimum score of 27 on the short version of the Apathy Evaluation Scale (AES-C).

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. comorbidities of severe mood or neurological disorders, current alcohol or substance dependence disorder; 2. insufficient language abilities to perform tests in a valid way; 3. Metal implants in head/brain; 4. (suspected) pregnancy; 5. Diagnosis of epilepsy, or a personal or first degree family history of epileptic seizures; 6. Brain surgery; 7. Intracerebral implants; 8. Been treated with electroconvulsive therapy within six months; 9. severe cognitive deficit.
