Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. adult patients (aged >18 years); 2. meeting one of the following conditions (1) with infective endocarditis; (2) combined with heart, or lung, or liver, and or kidney failure before cardiac surgery; (3) scheduled for total aortic arch replacement surgery under deep hypothermic circulatory arrest. 3. serum TNF-a>8.1 umol/L.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. patients involved in other intervention experiments; 2. pregnancy; 3. glucocorticoid consumption for long-term; 4. combined with immune system diseases, such as HIV-infection; 5. Informed consent not obtained.
