Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: From January to December 2019, the patient who was admitted to the Emergency Neurology Department of our hospital; the diagnosis conformed to the diagnostic criteria of acute cerebral infarction in the Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Acute Ischemic Stroke 2018; within 24 hours of onset suffered from ischemic stroke, with the responsible blood vessels in the anterior circulation; Without consciousness disorder; did not receive mechanical thrombectomy; signed the informed consent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients who was admitted to the Emergency Neurology Department of our hospital after 18:00; imaging findings suggest abnormal lesions in the retina-hypothalamus pathway; a history of neurological and psychiatric disorders or insomnia before stroke; caffeine-containing foods or beverages taken within 24 hours before admission; benzodiazepines, hypnotics and over-the-counter sleeping drugs taken within 6 weeks before onset; and patients with blindness, severe liver dysfunction, renal dysfunction or malignant diseases; travelling across a time zone six weeks before onset or working night or shift within six weeks before onset; taking beta-blockers that inhibit the secretion of melatonin, corticosteroids, immunosuppressants and opioids.
