Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: The patients in stable phase of COPD or healthy volunteers who are 50-80 years old, 18.5-30 kg/m2 and no respiratory infections last 30 days will be enrolled in the study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: (1) chronic metabolic disorders; (2) neurological diseases or muscle diseases; (3) heart diseases; (4) took any drugs influencing skeletal muscles in the past 6 months; (5) a history of surgery in the past 3 months; (6) pneumothorax, pleural effusion, tuberculosis, bronchiectasis, pulmonary fibrosis or other serious respiratory diseases; (7) mentally disabled or subject insuitable to the study according to researchers.
