18 Years to 60 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. aged 18-60 years; 2. scheduled for ESS under general anesthesia; 3. capable of understanding the trial and providing responses about the outcome evaluation; 4. agree to participant in this trial and sign informed consnets.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. chronic pain requiring opiates or NSAID; 2. severe psychiatric disease or cognitive impairment leading to communication difficulties; 3. diagnosed as hepatitis B, hepatitis C, HIV infection or syphilis; 4. alcohol or drug abuse/addition; 5. contraindications to EA (scar or skin damage at the acupuncture, electronic devices such as pacemakers or other implanted medical electronic devices in the body); 6. receiving acupuncture treatment in past 6 months; 7. participating in other clinical trials in past 30 days.
