3:high GI yam paste containing 25g available carbohydrate
4:Glucose containing 50g available carbohydrate
5:Rice containing 50g available carbohydrate
6:Co-ingestion rice containing 40g available carbohydrate and low GI yam paste containing 10g available carbohydrate
7:Co-ingestion rice containing 40g available carbohydrate and high GI yam paste containing 10g available carbohydrate
8:Rice containing 40g available carbohydrate and low GI yam paste as preload containing 10g available carbohydrate
9:Rice containing 40g available carbohydrate and low GI yam paste as preload containing 10g available carbohydrate

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Young people aged 18~26 years; 2. body mass index (BMI) 18~25 kg/m2.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: (1) abnormal blood glucose level; (2) being on a diet or gaining weight deliberately in the past 3 months; (3) breakfast-skippers and regularly consuming three meals; (4) taking prescription medicines or nutritional supplements for 3 months prior to the study; (5) smoker; (6) food allergy; (7) with metabolic disease and family history; (8) in pregnancy or lactation period.
