Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: We searched the hospital database of our department (Department of Orthopedics, West China Hospital, China) for patients with fibrous dysplasia in the proximal femur between 1998 and 2018. FD was diagnosed by the existence of at least one of the four features: 1. grayish ground-glass appearance; 2. endosteal scalloping; 3. shepherds crook deformity; 4. intramedullary, expansible lesion with a smooth sclerotic margin.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients without preoperative and postoperative image data were ruled out. Patients without treatment records of any surgery performed were likewise excluded. Also, patient who lost follow-up was excluded.
