Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: ASD enrollment criteria: 1. diagnosis of ASD according to DSM-V; 2. aged 3-8 years old; 3. no kinship between participants. NT children were selected using the following criteria: 1. aged 3-8 years old, normal development; 2. no family history of ASD; 3. children guardians agreed to participate in the study and signed informed consent; 4. no antibiotics, or other gastrointestinal treatments within 1 month before enrollment.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: ASD group: 1. Used antibiotics, probiotics, or other gastrointestinal treatments within 1 month prior to enrollment; 2. children with other mental illnesses, brain organic disease, severe liver and kidney diseases, and cardiovascular diseases; 3. children guardians did not give permission for participation or did not complete follow-up.
