Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1) patients aged 45 years or older; 2) underwent elective thoracic surgery; 3) with informed consent; 4) with American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) class I-III; 5) anesthesia lasted no less than 2 hours.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1) can not cooperate with the researchers and be unsuitable for the study; 2) with central nervous disease and infection before surgery; 3) the education level under primary school; 4) the Telephone Interview for Cognitive Status-Modified (TICS-m) score less than 28; 5) a history of neurological disease, psychiatric and anti-depression drugs; 6) the inability to communication because of dysaudia and vision disorder; 7) serious hepatic (Child-Pugh class C) and renal dysfunction (undergoing dialysis); 8) sick sinus syndrome, severe sinus bradycardia (<50 beats per min), or second or third degree atrioventricular block without pacemaker.
