Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Participants eligible for this study (EHC 2005 baseline) included those who will be: 1. Aged 65 years and older; 2. ethnic Chinese; 3. living in the community; and 4. having no history of clinical dementia in 2005.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. living in care homes; 2. having dementia, or scoring below the education-specific cutoff on the Cantonese version of the Mini-Mental State Examination (C-MMSE) at baseline (2005)
