Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. meet the diagnosis standard of acute pancreatitis; 2. onset from symptoms =72 hours; 3. aged between 18 and 65 years old; 4. BISAP=2 or Glasgow >2 on admission; 5. well consented and approved informed consent form.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients with mild acute pancreatitis (Harmless Acute Pancreatitis Score > 2); 2. Patients with recurrent acute pancreatitis history during recent 3 months; 3. Patients with known chronic pancreatitis; 4. Patients admitted to ICU; 5. Patients on vasopressors at recruitment; 6. Pregnant patients; 7. ERCP prior to enrolment (i.e. post ERCP pancreatitis); 8. Significant co-morbidities, including history of severe cardiovascular, respiratory, renal, hepatic or immunologic disease defined as (1) greater than New York Heart Association class I heart failure; (2) active myocardial ischemia; or (3) cardiovascular intervention within previous 180 days; (4) cardiac valvulopathy or arrhythmia; or (5) history of cirrhosis; or (6) chronic kidney disease history (defined as over CKD II), or (7) chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, or (8) rhabdomyolysis; (9) cardiac surgery history.
