Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Women aged 30–70 years, with a non-prolapsed uterus in need of a hysterectomy for benign indication.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: History of rectal surgery, suspected rectovaginal, endometriosis or malignancy, history of pelvic inflammatory disease, active lower genital tract infection, virginity, pregnancy or failure to provide written informed consent.
