Interventions

melatonin group:premedication with oral melatonin

midazolam group:premedication with oral midazolam

plecobo group:premedication with equal volume of water

2 Years to 6 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Children aged 2-6 years, American Society of Anesthesiologist (ASA) physical status I or II, planning to undergo elective adenotonsillectomy or adenoidecomy under sevoflurane general anesthesia.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with known behavior problems ,physical developmental delay ,taking depressants or antiseizure medication in the previous month ,history of previous anesthesia,those with known cardiovascular disease, pulmonary or neurologic disease and/ or current upper respiratory tract infection and those who were overweight (>20% of ideal weight).
