18 Years to 70 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. patients diagnosed with cirrhosis; 2. older than 18 years; 3. with recent six months, episodes of hepatic encephalopathy more than 1 times (Conn score=2), and relief of illness (Conn score, 0 or 1) at the recruitment; 4. need using rifaximin-a for hepatic encephalopathy prophylaxis; 5. sign the informed consent form.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: those who are allergic to rifampin have a clear gastrointestinal disease those who can not take oral medication patients with advanced liver cirrhosis are not expected to complete the entire study cycle
