case series:Deep brain stimulation of the anterior thalamic nucleus

Age

17 Years to 65 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: (1) Aged 17-65 years. (2) Seizure frequency is at least once per month. (3) Participants can complete seizure diaries. (4) Participants may fail to control seizure with at least three anti-epilepsy drugs for at least 2 years, and with one to four anti-epileptic drugs used at the time of study entry. (5) Participants granted institutional review board approved informed consent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: (1) Participants who had progressive neurologic or medical diseases are excluded. (2) Participants who were pregnant are excluded. (3) Participants who had vagus nerve simulators and refused to turn off are excluded.
