Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. patients age more than 18 years old; 2. patients fulfilling the American College of Rheumatology criteria for knee osteoarthritis; 3. patients with pain intensity of at least 30 out 100 on the NRS on most or all days for more than 3 months; 4. Radiologic evidence of Kellgren-Lawrence knee arthritis score more than 2; 5. Pain resistant to conventional therapy including NSAIDs, physical therapy, and intra-articular injection therapy.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Acute knee pain; 2. history of knee operations; 3. patients with nervous system or mental disease; 4. Patients with pacemaker; 5. abnormal EMG with the affected lower extremity; 6. patients with systemic or local infection.
