Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Meeting the diagnostic criteria of the Mini Mental State Examination (MINI) for unipolar depression, generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, or social anxiety disorder (co-morbidity is allowed); 2. Aged between 60 and 75 years; 3. Junior school education or above; 4. Drug-free or individuals taking psychotropic medications at the time of enrollment were required to be stable on the same dose for at least 6weeks prior to enrolling in the study andwere requested to maintain these medications and dosages during treatment; 5. Obtain the informed consent of the patient and guardian, and sign the informed consent (approved by the ethics committee).

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Mini Mental State Examination [MMSE], Chinese version score?24; 2. Those dependent on alcohol or drugs; 3. Patients with severe or unstable physical diseases; 4. Patients with organic mental disorder; 5. Patients who received MECT within 3 months prior to enrollment; 6. Having received CBT with qualified therapist in the past or currently receiving psychological therapy; 7. Participants have co-morbidity of developmental disorder, psychotic disorders,bipolar disorder, or OCD 8. Patients at risk of suicide or self-harm.
