Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: This retrospective clinical observational study included 38 patients scheduled for transabdominal operation with American Society of Anesthesiologists physical status I–II, age>60 years, who demonstrated a sinus rhythm and mitral valvular e velocity 9cm/s indicating diastolic dysfunction1 with TEE evaluation after anesthesia induction.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Patients with the following characteristics were excluded: infection at the puncture site, history of allergy to local anesthetics, preexisting neurological disorders, and/or preexisting coagulatory system disorders (recent bleeding from esophageal varicose veins or hypocoagulability with prothrombin time <20% or platelet count <3000/mL).
