Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Aaged 18 years and above; 2. Patients are diagnoised with open angle glaucoma (detected by gonioscopy or ultrasound biomicroscopy) with or without cataract; 3. Medically uncontrolled glaucoma, that is, well-documented progression of visual field defects and glaucomatous optic neuropathy including thinning or notching of the neuroretinal rim, localized or diffuse retinal nerve fiber layer loss, an enlarged cup disc ratio (vertical diameter), and accompanied by correlated typical glaucomatous visual field loss despite the use of maximal topical treatment. In addition, it also includes patients with contraindications to the use of topical medications or with drug intolerance; 4. Patients did not undergo other intraocular surgery or laser surgery within 6 months.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients have history of other intraocular surgery or laser surgery within 6 months; 2. Patients have severe oculopathy, such as, proliferative or severe nonproliferative retinopathy, retinal vein occlusion or retinal artery occlusion, neuropathy other than glaucoma, eye cancer; 3. Patients have severe systemic disease; 4. Patient is pregnant or breast feeding.
