Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All patients aged 18 years or over who underwent emergency abdominal wall hernia surgery at our institution

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Those whose hernia repair as not their primary operation (e.g. paraumbilical hernia fixed at the same time as an emergency laparotomy performed for another reason)
