Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: patient aged older than 50 years, maximum flow rate (Qmax) < 15 mL/second and the International Prostate Symptom Score (IPSS) = 10. All subjects received quality-of-life questionnaire (QoL) and transrectal ultrasound of the prostate (TRUS) preoperatively.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with prostate cancer, bladder cancer, previous transurethral surgery, interstitial cystitis and neurogenic bladder were excluded.
