Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: (1) Patients who underwent elective laparoscopic anterior resection of middle and lower rectal cancer (below 10 cm from the lower edge of the tumor to the anal edge); (2) Patients of unlimited sex, aged 18-85 years; (3) Before the start of the study, all patients have been fully understood the research and the must sign the informed consent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: (1) Patients with stage IV rectal cancer; (2) Patients with multiple rectal cancer; (3) Patients receiving neoadjuvant radiotherapy and chemotherapy; (4) Patients who underwent preventive stoma at the same time; (5) Complicated with serious primary diseases such as heart, cerebrovascular, liver, kidney or hematopoietic system; (6) Female patients during pregnancy or lactation.
