Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Aged 18-75 years;being a registered resident in the 5 selected villages; the kitchen is suitable for installation of ventilation facilities; being in a family regularly cooking at home. We also included local residents using clean fuels for cooking who were willing to participate and met the inclusion creterion as well, considering that like solid fules, cooking itself also constituted a source of air pollution exposure. Those non-cooking were also considered for inclusion, becaused in the study area, local residents enjoy staying in the kitchen, for sitting around and having meals apart from cooking, and the non-cooking family mambers were actually also exposed to air polltion from cooking.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Having plans of leaving home or relocation for a long time (within one year); being pregnant or in the lactation period; with severe diseases that may bias the study results (e.g., malignant tumor); not able to communicate/cooperate due to illness (e.g., mental disease or severe psychoneurosis) or any other conditions.
