18 Years to 75 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Aged >18 years; 2. Diagnosed as acute viral pneumonia, diagnose criteria: (1) Clinical manifestations: fever, cough, headache, muscle pain, or epidemiological history; (2) The pathogen specimen was positive: any one kind of respiratory specimen (nasopharyngeal secretions, sputum, endotracheal aspiration, BALF) is positive: 1) nucleic acid of virus; 2) virus antigen; 3) the virus was isolated from respiratory specimen; 4) dynamic detetion of acute phase and recovery phase of serum, virus specific antibody level was 4 times or more increased; 3. Meet one of the following conditions: (1) 150mmHg 18 years, diagnosed as acute viral pneumonia and meet the Berlin Definition of ARDS with mechanical ventilation.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Received invasive mechanical ventilation; 2. Underlying diseases and complications: (1) Hypercapnia; (2) Acute attack of bronchial asthma; (3) Acute exacerbation of chronic respiratory failure caused by COPD or other chronic lung diseases; (4) Cardiogenic pulmonary edema; (5) Severe neutropenia (neutrophil < 0.5x10^9/L); (6) Hemodynamic instability (systolic blood pressure < 90 mmHg or mean arterial pressure < 65 mmHg, vasopressors should be used); (7) GCS score=12; (8) Contraindications to noninvasive ventilation; (9) Indications of emergency endotracheal intubation (evaluated by clinicians); (10) Facial deformities, nasal deformities or diseases cannot receive nasal mask, mask and nasal catheter; (11) Conditions requiring airway protection, such as seizure and massive hemoptysis; 3. Tracheotomy; 4. Refuse endotracheal intubation; 5. Pregnant women.
