Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Mechanically-ventilated patients in the intensive care unit; 2. Fully conscious; 3. Grade 4 or above muscle power on MRC scale; 4. Satisfactory visual acuity after correction (determined by the ability to count the number of fingers held up at a distance of 2 feet away).

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Delirious; 2. Children or adolescent (of less than 18-year-old); 3. Illiterates; 4. Mentally incapacitated persons; 5. Patients in emergency conditions; 6. Prisoners; 7. Subordinates or students of investigators.
